Again, this is such a nice return to form, seeing the Digimon and tamer bonding with the nice atmosphere, and what I especially like is that this series didn't wait a few episodes before introducing its darker elements. I'm loving this so far.

the main problem frontier has was the "it devolved into Takuya and Koji being the only ones battling and receiving power ups"
I would have liked that at least the 6 kids divided into 2 groups so 3 became KaiserGreymon and the other 3 MagnaGarurumon.
That KaiseryGreymon and MagnaGarurumon could use attacks of all the elements of their components (kaiser could use ice, fire, wind, wood, and earth; magna could use thunder, light, darkness, metal and water attacks)

I see your point and I would've liked it if as the kids grew as characters they became able to merge their Human Spirit and Beast Spirit like Takuya and Koji.
Also, I can't forgive them for the first appearance of Fairymon. It was the only girl of the team and she was weaker than the youngest one !

I agree with your discussion on this, as I for one would of Liked to See the other Spirit's "Fusion" spirits and just fire and Light's fusion spirit, it would of made it more interesting in my opinion though I know it would make the show "too much" but I'd still would of liked to see their fusions

I wouldn't have liked Ice's fusion, given it somehow doesn't look at all like a fusion in official materials (it is a giant penguin with posicles as swords)
although I would wish, ahd the fusions appeared, that fusion of the ice spirits, would have looked different

i thought mummymon gonna be another bad digimon who only do bad thing for the sake of his satisfy/goal, but it turned out to be misunderstanding lmao.

Love it, love it love everything about it, the evolution sequence was short but epic and i hope they do it for everyone this time, and i'm super glad they found a more realistic way to beat mummymon rather then just beat him down it was both realistic and hilarious. while the English dub were Rookie, Champion, Ultimate and Mega.

Poor kid is trying to find out more about Digimon and the Digital world but his partner is clueless. Guess he will have a field day with Angoramon.

So some people were right, the partners are around their tamers even if they do not have the bracelet. So the whole curse thing is basically Jellymon. Nice.

I like how some Digimon will be enemies while others might just be pranksters and some might be mislead by the information of the human world.

We still can't tell which kind of Digimon Clockmon was... Was he a prankster, a bad guy or mislead ? :3

Where the heck was this quality level in the 2020 adaptation? I just hope they've learned from their trainwreck and can design something better now.
And man, Gammamon is just plain adorable. I haven't been affected by digimon cuteness this much since Guilmon calling Takatomon.
And they respected the power scaling unlike in Xross wars, no way a champion could beat an Ultimate.
It was also nice to see that the tamer takes a more proactive role in battle now, being what triggers the digimon's ability to use their special moves.

It suffered due to Covid and wasn't as much of a toy advertisement as this season.

No, here is the thing, I don't wanna jinx it, but first few episodes of 2020 was also really nice, we are only in 2nd episode, it can go downhill, because Bandai loves giving shitty budget to Digimon.

I like this dynamic of the chosen children / tamer needing to call out the attacks for the digimon to use them. it givs them more relevance. similar to the Matrix evolution into Ultimate in Tamers

The quality went all to the summer wars arc, after that there was enough budget to make a slideshow only.

I'm glad BetalGammamon didn't beat Mummymon. He's an Ultimate!! Also I'm happy that not all digimon are bad, just misunderstood.

If you haven't, then I'd recommend you check out Tamers. It's considered one of the best seasons by basically everyone, and for good reason. Not saying it's better than this - this doesn't have enough episodes to even begin to make that comparison - but it is the baseline for something being quality.

This episode was good, not only reinforced the fact that some Digimons can become actual dangerous threats against humanity, but also some of them can be redeemed if guided properly.

I'm enjoying the concept of Ghost Game so much and BetelGammamon was cool AF, the fact that a Champion like him didn't actually won against an Ultra like Mummymon shows that this adaptation has a bit of common sense, can't wait for more already!

I think it might be too early for me to say this. But this Digimon looking great so far. It better than 2020 one. The animation is great too. Kinda wish the evolution more longer.

I think the evolution sequence lasted enough, there's no need for something unnecessary grand like Agumon had in 2020, now what I do hope is that we get a sick animation sequence whenever the Digimons of Ghost Game reach Mega.

To be honest. Those grand evolution that what I love. But to each their own. Maybe they can use this evolution as short one. Because of course I will get bored when I keep seeing to long evolution sequence over and over lol.

You know human medicine came a long way when a mummy Digimon tries to mummify tired humans to heal them but it doesn't work.

Also, the digivolution... Looking good but I can't help but think that Gammamon's future evolutions will be named after stars...

Anyway, next episode : Second protagonist makes its debuts as ghost hunting ! The paranormal addict girl !

This show really feels different from any Digimon show, it's more mysterious. It feels like this was supposed to be another new franchise but TOEI or somebody got a hold of it and added Digimon to be part of its universe.

This Digimon series is solid already, so much potential.
